About me
I am a Rehabilitation Doctor through MIR training in the Speciality of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, being a resident intern at the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín.
I am in charge of the evaluation and treatment of dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system through a complete and individualised assessment of each patient. My goal is to eliminate pain and for the patient to regain pre-injury functionality. A close relationship with the patient is important in order to obtain the best results, as it is essential that they are actively involved in their recovery process in order to achieve their goals and prevent future episodes.
I have developed my professional activity as a specialist physician in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, from June 2010 to the present, with a specific Interventional Rehabilitation consultation in which we use ultrasound as a working tool for the application of treatments aimed at pain relief.
I have been trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound, participating in multiple theoretical and practical courses, some of them taught by leading figures in this field. I also have an extensive knowledge of pain medication, both oral and through infiltrations. I use botulinum toxin with musculoskeletal application, as well as infiltrations with other drugs, intra-articular or in other locations.
I have extensive professional experience in the application of shockwave therapy and am certified by the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment for its use.
I also have extensive and continually updated training in osteoporosis, a pathology that is not uncommon and can cause serious complications in people who suffer from it.
