We gathered, for the first time, in Gran Canaria the national and international referents in urological surgery.

The 28th Congress of the Canary Islands Urology Society was held from September 21 to 23 at the ExpoMeloneras Conference Center.

This year's program has focused on current issues in all areas of urology, new technologies, new treatments, sustainability and artificial intelligence. We have offered a complete and pioneering program with a multidisciplinary vision and we have counted with the presence of national and international referents in urological surgery such as Dr. Richard Gaston, Dr. Fernando Gómez Sancha, Dr. Antonio Rosales, Dr. Josep Salvador Bayarri, among others.

In addition, two HoLEP prostate enucleation surgeries performed by Dr. Pablo Juarez del Dago and Dr. Fernando Gomez Sancha were broadcast live with excellent results.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ms. Esther Monzón, Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.

First of all, I would like to thank the Canary Society of Urology for having trusted me to organize this event, which could not have taken place without the collaboration of all my team at GUA and Urointec, Magna Congresos, ExpoMeloneras and, of course, all the sponsors and Authorities. I would also like to thank all the attendees and speakers for their involvement and adaptability to the small changes of the live event. I am also enormously grateful to have been able to count on the presence of people I admire and who have been my teachers, national and international references in urological surgery such as Dr. Richard Gaston, Dr. Fernando Gómez Sancha, Dr. Antonio Rosales, Dr. Josep Salvador Bayarri, among others. I am happy to have done my bit to bring together colleagues, friends and references around urology, one of my greatest passions, says Dr. Pablo Juarez del Dago, President of the Organizing Committee and Medical Director of our center.
