La resección transuretral de vejiga (RTU de vejiga) es el procedimiento más utilizado para diagnosticar y tratar los tumores vesicales que se encuentran en las capas superficiales de la vejiga.
La intervención se realiza a través de la uretra, sin necesidad de incisiones externas. Mediante un instrumento especializado llamado resector, el urólogo accede al interior de la vejiga para visualizar y extirpar el tumor de forma precisa. Además de su función terapéutica, el tejido extraído se analiza posteriormente para determinar las características del cáncer y planificar el tratamiento más adecuado.
