Why do we use this type of biopsy in GUA?

Minimally invasive.

It is a painless and minimally invasive test, as we use sedation to avoid suffering and the need for hospitalisation.

Because their recovery is quick.

After 24 hours, as no hospitalisation is required, the patient can return to normal life (prudently avoiding excesses and efforts for a longer period of time).

It has fewer risks than other biopsies.

They have less risk of infections and complications as they are performed perinea, unlike other biopsies that can carry faecal bacteria and generate prostatic infections (prostatitis) or even sepsis.

More detection capacity

While other techniques detect only 30%, transperineal fusion mapping has a 95% detection rate.

We guarantee the most accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer.

If an elevated PSA (portate-specific antigen) is observed during a urological examination, or if areas of induration are palpated during a digital rectal examination, this technique can be used.

Prostate cancer remains the most common cancer in men, with 1 in 9 men diagnosed. Moreover, it usually has no symptoms until it is in advanced stages. For this reason it is vital to make an early and accurate diagnosis.

At GUA we are always looking for the best tools to assist our patients and this mapping, which fuses the images extracted from the multiparametric MRI with those obtained in the ultrasound, allowing us to obtain a 3D image with which to identify the exact points in which to perform the biopsy, is the best tool at the service of the health of our patients.
