Robotic surgery arrives at our center. Press conference presentation.

Our center GUA Gabinete de Urología y Andrología of the hand of Hospitales Universitarios San Roque is the first to offer the most advanced robotic surgery in the Canary Islands.

We have presented at a press conference the arrival of the first Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery System from Medtronic. It is the first Hugo™ robot in its highest range to arrive in the Canary Islands.

Hospitales Universitarios San Roque and GUA Urology and Andrology, led by Dr. Pablo Juarez del Dago, with extensive experience in the field of urological robotic surgery at national and international level, have been pioneers in the Canary Islands in incorporating the Hugo™ Assisted Robotic Surgery System to their facilities, the latest technology in minimally invasive surgery that improves the results, accuracy and safety of surgical activity.

- The acquisition of this most sophisticated surgical technology represents a further step forward in the evolution of surgery in the Canary Islands and makes available to all citizens the benefits of cutting-edge robotic surgery that offers greater versatility and versatility when designing personalized treatments for patients. We have the necessary equipment and infrastructure to carry out the most complex surgical procedures. This advanced system, which is operated by highly qualified surgeons, offers the patient greater safety and safer results than traditional surgical procedures. - explains Dr. Juarez del Dago.

Medtronic's Hugo™ RAS system revolutionizes the meaning of performing robot-assisted surgery and is the first to arrive in the Canary Islands. Its modular and portable design, together with powerful analysis capabilities, an innovative system in the controls of the wrist instruments, an open console that facilitates communication between the surgeon and his team or a 4k 3D screen that provides greater definition and precision of vision with a great capacity for differentiation of tissues and structures in the surgical field, provides greater safety for the patient with the advantages granted by robotic surgery such as reduced postoperative pain, less need for blood transfusion, reduced hospital stay and early return to daily activities.

Directed by Dr. Pablo Juarez del Dago, the Robotic Surgery Unit of the Robotic Surgery Unit of Hospitales Universitarios San Roque and GUA Urology and Andrology, whose main objective is to position itself as a reference center for robotic surgery in the Canary Islands, has a multidisciplinary character and will involve surgeons from different specialties such as urology, general surgery, gynecology, among others.
